The 18th edition qualification by City & Guilds has no prerequisites, which means the qualification is open to anyone who is over the age of 16 and looking to enhance their understanding of the IET wiring regulations. The qualification is aimed at practising electricians, trainees and associated trade professionals, including electrical engineers, contracts managers, designers, consultants, surveyors, builders and plumbers.
By gaining the City & Guilds 2382-22 qualification allows candidates to progress into employment or to the following City & Guilds qualifications:
- City & Guilds Level 2 Certificate in Fundamental Inspection, Testing and Initial Verification (2392-10)
- City & Guilds Level 3 Certificate in Building Regulations for Electrical Installation Contractors in Dwellings (2393-10)
- City & Guilds Level 3 Award in Initial Verification (2391-50)
- City & Guilds Level 3 Award in the Periodic Inspection (2391-51)
- City & Guilds Level 3 Award in Inspection and Testing (2391-52)

The Part P Domestic Electrical Qualification 2393-10 by City & Guilds has no prerequisites. The qualification is open to anyone in Bournemouth who is over the age of 18 and looking to enhance their understanding of the Building Regulations. The qualification is aimed at practising electricians, trainees and associated trade professionals, including handypersons, gas engineers, plumbers, landscapers, kitchen fitters and builders. And if you work or are involved in the electrical industry and undertaking work in a domestic setting, you will need to make sure you are working in accordance with the Building Regulations. By gaining the City & Guilds 2393-10 qualification, you are demonstrating you have a knowledge and understanding of the Building Regulations and electrical safety.
This qualification is not only industry-recognised but is considered one of the most useful by practising electricians to help generate business. The public instantly recognises Part P as a benchmark that they expect an electrician to be working to. With this Part P qualification, candidates will not only make themselves more employable to prospective employers but also help generate work if looking to work as a self-employed person undertaking electrical work in a dwelling.

ECS Labourers Card is a must for anyone in Bournemouth looking to start or further their career in the electrical industry! The ECS Labourer card signifies you are competent in assisting electricians with their electrical installations. Those holding an ECS Labourer Card are supervised during electrical works, thus ensuring safety and efficiency.
The ECS Labourers Card is used when individuals do not meet the qualification criteria of advanced cards, such as the JIB Gold Card. The Labourer Card provides a valuable opportunity for newcomers, trainees and those looking to start in the electrical industry. This intervention serves those aspiring to reach the pinnacle of the electrical industry to become a fully qualified electrician and gain a JIB Gold Card.
If you don’t already hold an approved qualification, you will need to complete an ECS-approved Health & Safety Course.
The Safety Pass Alliance (SPA) H&S Core Day is an approved ECS Health & Safety exemption and can be used to complete the ECS Labourers Card application process.
If completed within three years of your ECS application, there is no need to complete the ECS H&S Test.
The course is just one day and can be completed online using Teams or Zoom.
Courses are available every week starting at 0830hrs and finishing @ 1600hrs. Individual and group bookings are welcome.
