Electrical Training Courses in Birmingham with MJ Electrical Training
MJ Electrical Training provides a range of electrical, site safety and construction-related training courses for candidates in Birmingham, the West Midlands and across the UK. Our aim is to keep training simple, flexible and accessible, with many courses delivered through online e-learning or live virtual classroom training.
For candidates who need an exam centre option in Birmingham, our Birmingham City Centre venue is located at:
Gateway House, High Street, Birmingham B4 7SY
This central location makes the Birmingham exam centre a convenient option for candidates travelling from areas such as Solihull, Wolverhampton, Walsall, Dudley, West Bromwich, Sutton Coldfield, Coventry, Tamworth, Redditch, Worcester and the wider West Midlands.
Birmingham Electrical Exam Centre Location
Our Birmingham exam centre is based at Gateway House on High Street, right in the city centre. The venue is close to Birmingham’s main shopping areas, business district, rail stations, tram stops and bus routes, making it a practical choice for candidates travelling by public transport or car.
Being in the centre of Birmingham means candidates have access to nearby parking, cafés, shops and transport links. This is particularly useful for those attending a City & Guilds exam after completing their course online.
The Birmingham centre is used for selected electrical exams and provides a convenient city centre option for candidates who prefer to sit their final exam in person rather than from home.
Travelling to Gateway House by Train 🚆
Birmingham is extremely well connected by rail, and the exam centre is within easy reach of the city’s main railway stations.
Birmingham New Street Station is the main station for candidates travelling from across the West Midlands and wider UK. From New Street, Gateway House is only a short walk through the city centre towards High Street.
Birmingham Moor Street Station is also close by and is useful for candidates travelling from areas such as Solihull, Warwick, Leamington Spa, Stratford-upon-Avon and other local routes.
Birmingham Snow Hill Station is another convenient option, especially for candidates travelling from areas such as Worcester, Kidderminster, Stourbridge, Jewellery Quarter and other parts of the West Midlands rail network.
Candidates should allow enough time to walk from the station, locate Gateway House and reach the 6th floor before the exam start time.
Travelling by Tram and Bus 🚌
Birmingham City Centre has excellent tram and bus links. Candidates travelling by tram can use central Birmingham stops and walk towards High Street and the main shopping area.
For bus users, Birmingham City Centre is served by a large number of routes from across the West Midlands. Look for buses serving High Street, Bullring, Corporation Street, Moor Street, New Street or Snow Hill.
As with any city centre venue, it is worth allowing extra time during peak travel periods, especially in the morning or late afternoon.
Travelling by Car 🚗
Candidates travelling by car should use the following address for sat nav:
Gateway House, High Street, Birmingham B4 7SY
There are several public car parks within walking distance of High Street and the surrounding city centre area. Parking prices and availability can vary depending on the time of day, events in Birmingham and weekday demand, so it is sensible to check parking options before travelling.
Birmingham City Centre can be busy, and some roads have restrictions, bus lanes or one-way systems. Candidates should also check whether the Birmingham Clean Air Zone applies to their vehicle before travelling.
Online Learning with Local Exam Options
One of the main benefits of training with MJ Electrical Training is flexibility. Many of our electrical courses are delivered through online e-learning, allowing candidates to study at home, at work or around existing commitments.
This works particularly well for busy electricians, maintenance engineers, adult learners, shift workers and candidates who do not want to spend several days in a classroom. Once the online course has been completed, candidates can then sit the final exam either from home, where available, or at an approved exam centre.
For Birmingham-based candidates, this means you can complete most of the preparation online and then use the Birmingham exam centre where suitable.
Who Uses Our Birmingham Electrical Training Courses?
Our courses are suitable for a wide range of candidates, including electricians, domestic installers, electrical improvers, maintenance engineers, facilities staff, construction workers, utilities workers, employers booking staff training, adult career changers and younger candidates trying to build a route into the industry.
The 18th Edition Wiring Regulations course is one of the most popular qualifications for electricians and those working around electrical installations. It is widely recognised by employers and is often expected across the industry.
The Building Regulations Part P course is useful for candidates involved in domestic electrical installation work, particularly where knowledge of Building Regulations and domestic installer requirements is important.
The Inspection & Testing course is aimed at candidates who need to develop or prove their inspection and testing knowledge. Please note that the final exam for this course is currently available from Manchester or London only.
Our health and safety courses also support site access routes. The SPA Health & Safety Core Day is ECS approved and is commonly used by candidates applying for an ECS Labourer’s Card. The IOSH Safety, Health & Environment for Construction Workers course is used to support CSCS Green Labourer’s Card applications. The SHEA Power EUSR course is useful for candidates working in or around the utilities and power sectors.
Supporting Candidates Across Birmingham and the West Midlands

MJ Electrical Training helps candidates take practical steps towards these goals. Whether you are updating an existing qualification, applying for a site card, moving into the electrical industry or booking staff training, our courses are designed to be straightforward and accessible.
We do not believe in overcomplicating the process. The aim is to give candidates clear training routes, flexible study options and recognised qualifications that help them move forward.
