Who can take the 18th edition course & exam?
The 18th edition qualification by City & Guilds has no prerequisites, which means the qualification is open to anyone who is over the age of 16 and looking to enhance their understanding of the IET wiring regulations. The qualification is aimed at practising electricians, trainees and associated trade professionals, which might include electrical engineers, contracts managers, designers, consultants, surveyors, builders and plumbers.

The final City & Guilds 18th edition 2382-22 examination, is a 2-hour online multiple-choice test. The percentage pass mark is 60%. This equals answering 36 questions or more correctly out of 60. The final examination follows the following structure:

How long will it take to get my 18th edition certificate?
Successful candidates receive a City & Guilds electronic certificate emailed to them within seven working days after passing the exam, and a hard copy version follows within four weeks.
You will only need the electronic version for CPS schemes like the NICEIC or NAPIT, the JIB, and most employers.
It is essential when you complete the enrolment process, candidates use the name they would like displayed on their certificates. This information will be used when registering with City & Guilds.
It’s entirely possible to complete the final examination and be certificated within ten days of enrolment.
