MJ Electrical Training has the largest centre network available in the UK, and January 2024 brings our centre network up to over 35. Enabling candidates to take either the 18th Edition or Part P final assessments from locations all across the UK every week.

We now have another centrally located test centre available in Leiceser City Centre, The Crescent, King St, Leicester LE1 6RX. The following two final examinations can be taken from this centre. 

18th Edition Wiring Regulations – Online course with exam only £234.00
City & Guilds Level 3 Award in the Requirements for Electrical Installations BS 7671:2018  (2382-22) Accreditation Number (QAN): 603/3319/4.
The online course is self-study and is available to access upon completion of enrolment. 

Part P of the Building Regulations – Online course with exam only £210.00
City & Guilds Level 3 Certificate in the Building Regulations for Electrical Installations in Dwellings (2393- 10)

To successfully pass the final exam for the 18th Edition Wiring Regulations, candidates must:

  • Complete a single 60 question multiple-choice online test.

This examination is conducted as an open-book assessment, allowing learners to use the following permitted reference material:

  • IET Wiring Regulations 18th Edition: BS 7671:2018 (2022) Requirements for Electrical Installations.

IET wiring regulations books brought into the examinations are allowed to include:

  • Bookmarks (e.g., blank post-it notes, post-it notes numbered to indicate chapters, or corners of pages folded).
  • Highlighting of text.
  • Short notations that cross-reference other parts of the document.

However, these books cannot include:

  • Sample exam questions, answers, or diagrams.
  • Any detailed notation in the regulations or accompanying written notes.
  • Notes, diagrams, or any content that may advantage the candidate in answering exam questions.

In addition to the reference material, candidates are permitted to use basic calculators and writing materials such as scrap paper, pens, or pencils during the examination.

The City & Guilds 2393-10 qualification for Part P Domestic Electrical has no prerequisites, making it accessible to individuals over the age of 18 seeking to enhance their understanding of Building Regulations. This qualification is designed for practising electricians, trainees, and various trade professionals, including handy-persons, gas engineers, plumbers, landscapers, kitchen fitters, and builders. If you are involved in the electrical industry and perform work in a domestic setting, compliance with Building Regulations is imperative.
